Meredith Vieira, Today Co-Anchor

Meredith Vieira joined NBC News' "Today" as co-anchor in September 2006. Before coming on board with Matt Lauer, Ann Curry, and Al Roker, Meredith served as moderator of ABC's "The View," beginning with the show's first broadcast in 1997. She also hosts "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire."

Meredith Vieira has more than two decades of journalism under her belt with such organizations as Turning Point, 60 Minutes, and CBS News. Her television journalism has been honored with seven Emmy awards, and she's reported on stories ranging from courtroom trials to Holocaust survivors. She's a dedicated contributor to philanthropic organizations and charitable causes including Safe Horizon, an organization that supports victims of violence and abuse, as well as The Pajama Program, which collects and distributes bedtime books and pajamas to underprivileged children.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Meredith currently lives outside of New York City, where she commutes (very early every morning) for her work on "Today." She's married to television producer and writer Richard Cohen, and they have three teenage kids, Ben, Gabe, and Lily.
