Did you go all the way to the UK for the Zorb piece? or were you already there for something else? Just curious...
Posted by jd on December 02 at 01:42am

Believe it or not, we did go all the way to the UK just to roll down a hill in a big ball. We took off after the show on Friday, arrived in England early on Saturday morning, then drove three hours to the Zorb site, hyperventilated for about 15 minutes, got in the crazy thing, rolled down the hill several times, then got back in the car, and drove to the airport, jumped on a plane, and rolled back into my own bed Saturday night.

...I am a freshman in college and I was wondering if you got the chance to do anything over again or change something you did in college, what would it be?

The only thing I probably would have done over is given my school more of a chance. I got into Tufts University but really wanted to go to Harvard (I didn’t get in). So, for much of my freshman year I would hitch a ride from Medford (where Tufts University is located) to Harvard Square (only a few miles away) every chance I got. Then I’d walk around with my backpack, pretending I was a "Cliffie." (As in Radcliffe student.) In the end, not only did I get a great education at Tufts, but it led me to my career—thanks to a guest professor there.

You mean it "led" you to your career? :) Any chance I could get a job as a proofreader/copy editor of these blogs? (I am a big fan).

I was just wondering what the very beautiful piece music that was played over the cold open about the mall shooting this morning (12/6/07) is titled. It was very beautiful and I was just wondering if it was specially produced for TODAY or was available for public use.

Hey Meredith,

Have you ever seen the show Jon & Kate Plus 8. about a couple that had twin girls and got pregnant and then had sextuplets. I think it would be fun for you to spend a day there with 8 kids under the age of 7!! What do you think about that?

Hi Meredith!
What is your favorite book? Do you have a favorite children's book that you enjoyed reading to your kids when they were little?

Hi Meredith,
If Today ever goes "Extreme" again (where you rolled down a hill in a big ball recently), what other wild and crazy thing do you think you would want to try to do?

Hi Meredith,
What are your favorite Christmas songs? Do you have favorite recordings of Christmas songs by Sinatra, Bennett, Eartha Kitt, Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, etc.?

mer--jetting all the way to the UK for the Zorb piece does not set a good example for going Green. flying out there just to roll down a hill, and then fly all the back is a waste of Fuel. we have hills here in the US you know.

Enjoyed the skating by Kimmie Misner. You indicated that the song she was skating to was sung by Winona Judd. It is an original song that the group AVALON sang and won the Dove Award in 1999 for the Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year for “Testify to Love.” It seems they should have been mentioned for their song. It is my favorite song. Here are to links that will verify this information.

Meredith,
As you said, there did appear to be warning signs along the way that would cause concern about the 19 year old who did the shooting in the mall.

Have to wonder how much of kids going in this direction is tied to technology. The more time kids spend on the Internet, the less time they spend with their families. Even parents who feel that they've been monitoring what happens on the computer are finding out that kids are exposed to more than they should be.

What makes it hard to monitor is that the inappropriate is mixed with the appropriate. Parents can do a sampling of content and assume that all is fine then later find that R and X rated material is mixed with G. It also happens with television, movies and video games. Whoever is producing the content needs to take time to evaluate how that content is affecting the myriad of minds exposed to it. How often do we hear words like "loser" condoned on TV? Robert Hawkins counted on the media to bestow instant fame for harming others. They did.

Mereidth, a real question. Has anyone heared if they have found the plane Steve Foset was flying. Was reminded this morning when Sir Richard Branson was on. And is it me, or is Al having way to much fun doing Sunday Night Football "In Amercia"...............!

"Dude, Where's My Laugh?"
Okay, all this "NO HO-HO" for Santa business is ridiculous. Please watch my little video. It's funny, but also a little on the George Orwell side... I mean... who's next? You? Me? Will the Easter Bunny have to wear pants!?! As a writer, I know that even one word can make a difference. As a journalist, you know the same.
Thanks. If I ever needed to make a statement beyond the walls of a theater(playwright here) it's now.
P.s. You a a great smile. Perfect to go with my coffee?

Ms. Vieira - I have tried MANY routes to get a message to you requesting a photo for one of my hospice patients - no luck so far! My patient is not only terminally ill but also mentally challenged and adores you - often saying "Meredith is my friend!". There are no interruptions when she is watching you on the Today Show or Millionaire. She recently said she wished she had a picture of you. It would mean so much to her if you could help make this wish come true!
Given her situation, time is essential. I will readily provide my full name and office address as well as my company's website in the event you want to check my affiliation and/or validity of request.
Thank you so much for your commitment to reporting unbiased news!
