Is it possible to get a tour of 30 Rock and NBC News, including Studio 1A?
Posted by Matt from DeWitt, MI on January 18 at 10:40pm

There are tours of the NBC studios – go to shopnbc.com and click around for the ‘NBC Experience’..The tour covers the studios of Nightly News, Dateline, Sports, as well as Conan and Saturday Night Live. And if you come to the plaza, you can peek through the windows and see a lot of what goes on inside Studio 1A.

You interview all these famous people - and hang around famous people all the time. Do you ever get starstruck still? Like if I met Justin Timberlake ever, I would FREAK!!! Do you have anyone like that? Someone you got nervous to interview?
Love yr blog!
--McGee

I don’t hang around famous people - it would be nice to say they all drop by for coffee, but that’s not the case. And I don’t think that I am "star struck". Years ago when I was a reporter at the CBS news magazine W57th, I interviewed a famous movie actor (who shall remain nameless)—I had admired him from the time I was a young girl. And he turned out to be quite rude and arrogant. I was so disappointed that since then I try to keep my expectations in check. Having said that, most celebrities are genuinely nice.

That's amazing that a town has managed to turn something so horrible into a little good in the world. I definitely agree that this is more hopeful than anything I've heard out of New Hampshire from the candidates. Will Cheshire being doing this [Lights of Hope] annually from now on? I hope so.

According to Don Walsh, who organized the event with his wife Jenifer, they are going to attempt to continue the luminary event on an annual basis—they are not sure if they can continue on the same scale at this year’s event, but they will try. Don said, “Since Cheshire Lights of Hope is a not-for-profit charity, we want to continue to honor Dr. Petit’s family, as well as raise money for MS.” cheshireslightsofhope.com

Meredith,
I usually love everything you do, but I was disappointed with your interview with Prince Andrew.

Dear Meredith,

When you are sent on assignment to other countries, especially for a short time like your London trip this week. Do you adjust your time to your location or do you stay on New York time? I would think that it would be easier to stay on New York time since you are still broadcasting at the same time you normally would. Does Matt do the same thing for Where in the World...? Is it easy to handle the drastic time changes? Love the show and loved the interview with Prince William!

I don't know if you can answer this question........But what has happened to the Saturday & Sunday Today Show? For many weeks now, Amy Robach is co-anchor on Saturday with Lester Holt & Jenna Wolf is co-anchor on Sunday. I am pleased with Amy's participation, but Jenna seems to be so "cold" & leaves a lot to be desired........Why isn't Amy on both days? This being said, I still miss Campbell Brown, but Amy Robach seems to be a better choice over Jenna Wolf........

Meredith, two questions: I want to become a journalist, just how do you get a job as a reporter on NBC News?
Also, I live with an NBC afiliate channel in Puerto Rico and one morning on TODAY, I saw you on 8:58 AM when the afiliate forgot to run the commercial and showed you giving a ''TODAY Update'' to another afiliate. Why do you do updates before you leave the show at 9:00?

Meredith - I know you have a son in college now. Has he been inundated with credit card offers? My sons have and the banks and credit card companies take advantage of these young, naive kids. My son racked up thousands of dollars in credit card interest and penalties from our bank who told him it was overdraft protection when in reality it was a high interest credit card. Something needs to be done about these companies taking advantage of our youth. The Today show should do a story on it. Love your show - watch it every day.

Alexa, why the heck were you so disappointed with Meredith's interview with Prince Andrew? What did Meredith do wrong this time to disappoint you? Like I said before people like you drive me nuts, I bet you could have done so much better. Maybe MSNBC could send you on Meredith's next assignment and see how great you do.
Meredith, I enjoyed your interview with Prince Andrew very much and I would bet he enjoyed it too.
Love ya

Hey Meredith, had no school today due to bad weather in the Midwest, got to watch the Today show all morning! Thought the segment with Martha was funny! Shes kinda picky! Anyways question: How do you do the broadcasting with all the time zones, cuz in MN the show starts at 7 but in NY its already 8. So how does that all work?

roxanne said:

Any chance of a rerun with you and Al on your bar-be-que piece? That was really funny stuff!

I was also disappointed with your segment with Prince Andrew. I will be traveling to London soon and I was hoping you would give some real hints on visiting the palace and other interesting places.

Have to say that anyone who is serious about global warming and conservation would have a problem with corporate jets and private jets. Count the gallons of fuel used by these aircraft.

If anchors are using corporate jets, they should give a thought to how many gallons of fuel they're using at any given time. They should also consider that it takes twice as much gas for a large limo to drive outside the city, pick up an anchor and drive in, drive the anchor back home, then drive the empty limo back into the city...than it takes for the anchor to drive herself in.

The information gleaned from the interview with Prince Andrew could have been obtained through the split screen technique. There was nothing Earth shaking warranting the use of so much fuel.

These views are held by those who are serious about economizing for ecology. Changing a light bulb may make you feel as if you've done your part, but it's a drop in the proverbial bucket.

Go Patriots! Glad you are supporting the winners!
I was disappointed that your bet with Matt on the Superbowl winner would be such an environmental waste. Instead of hiring a plane to waste fuel why not have him plant a tree in the the Boston common with a plaque congratulating the team.

Melanie said:

Meredith,

I love it that you and Matt bet on the Super Bowl - but flying a plane over a city? How much jet fuel will that use? Seems kind of eco-unfriendly.

To "Jillian" a/k/a "Caroline": Give it a rest and stop pontificating on a daily basis. This is your second diatribe on this topic (you posted last time as "Caroline"). Many of us are not fooled by your little con job. You do not care about the environment. Because if you did, then you would have gotten all hot & bothered over Ann's trip to England (supposedly on a private jet) just to jump off a bridge. How is that less wasteful than Meredith's trip? You are just mad that Meredith got a nice trip & the spotlight. And she did a nice job interviewing Prince Andrew.

Re: Meredith's mode of transportation to work: That's really none of your business. Are you a creepy stalker? How do you know where Meredith lives, how far a car has to travel to pick her up, the type of vehicle used, etc.? If she needs to give up her car, then why shouldn't Ann (who supposedly lives closer to work) take the subway alone at 4 a.m. and Matt walk to work in the dark? If NBC wants to give all these people transportation to work, then that is the network's business, not yours. Frankly, I would give Meredith & her coworkers cars to & from work too just to protect them from unstable people like you.

I just love your work. I was with a friend in the airport Sunday when we noticed you and couldn't believe it was actually you...

The lady sitting near us at the airport heard us talking (we didn't want to bother you) and she ran up to meet you. (I was the reluctant one behind the camera when you so kindly posed for a photo with my friend and the other lady...)

My friend and I wondered if you have a lot of people approach you on the street and ask who you are and how that is... I know it comes with what you do but sometimes is it a bit awkward when traveling with friends and family just for fun and not business?

You were so kind and sweet - it was really nice to meet you in person.

all the best...

Hi Meredith,
I am also a huge Patriot's fan; and they are torturing you today. Did anyone ever think: yes, the Giants did win the Super Bowl; but the Patriots' loss will probably help the stock market; therefore the economy??? Everyone down there should be thanking you & the Patriots.
Sincerely,
Eileen Teuten

Joan K. said:

Hi Meredith,
I was with you on wanting the Patriots to win, my husband wanted the Giants to win. They both played a good game, you took the ribbing well but then I wouldn't have minded it either just think you had your name above New York for everyone to see.
Love ya Meredith

Can I ask you. If you read the today show blogs and the bet you and Matt had well so many people were attacking you and him saying that you and the Today show are trying to go green why spend the money to do this. So what is the answer why did you guys decided to go on with when clearly people that love the show like me were against it and thought the money can be spent in a better place.

Hello Meredith,

I enjoy watching you daily on the Today show and love your quick wit and humor. I just have to tell you that your line this morning about Giselle leaving with Eli Manning after the Superbowl instead of Tom Brady was classic. Even a host on another popular sports network repeated your line from this morning and commented how humorous it was.

Thanks for making me laugh on a dreary Monday morning.

Hey Meredith,

I was wondering if there has been anytime you have lost your cool in an interview. You always seem so laid back and cool tempered.

Thanks and keep up the good work,
Patrick

i was disapointed in your response to Jane Fonda, couldnt youhave said something?,this is a morning show we could have children watching.
Does Fonda think she can say what ever she wants,it wasnt even funny. She has made a public confession that she was a christian but i guess it was just for that interview i doubt
her sincerity.

Do you know why, when reporting upcoming presidential polls, Texas is always omitted? It is constantly reported that Hillary Clinton is ahead by (as of today) 20+ points in Ohio, but there've been no numbers reported out of Texas for weeks. What are the recent, updated numbers out of Texas? If there are none, why not? If there are, why are they not being reported?

I loved watching you dance around with Bette Midler in this morning's segment! What fun! I really want to go see her show in Vegas.

My Friday question for you is - did you ever take dance classes when you were a kid? Tap? Jazz? Ballet?

My daughters take ballet and love it - just wondered if you did, as a kid.

Keep up the great work!
