Wow, Meredith, you looked mortified when Jane Fonda slipped and used vulgur language on your show yesterday! What was going through your head? I thought you handled the situation very professionally!

To be honest, when Jane said that word during the interview her head was turned slightly away from me and I wasn’t sure I had heard her correctly. I didn’t want to stop the interview and ask, "What did you say?" because if she had said the word I didn’t want her to repeat it, and if she hadn’t, I didn’t want to confuse the audience. But when the interview was over one of the producers spoke into my earpiece and asked me, "Did she say what I think she said?", at which point I looked over at the floor director and he gave me a glance that told me she sure had. I know it was an honest mistake on her part, but we certainly owed the audience an apology.

Which show do you have more fun doing, Millionaire or Today?
I would think that Millionaire would be more fun because you are the star of the show and your giving away money. What could be more fun than that :)

I love them both because they are so different. You are absolutely right--it is fun to give away money that isn’t yours; plus I meet so many wonderful people doing Millionaire. Most of the time they want that money to help a family member or to put a child through school or to give back to a charity or a church, and it’s great to leave a job with a smile on your face. As for Today--every single day it is something different--it is always exciting even on the days when you feel you don’t have the energy because when that train leaves the station at 7 a.m. you know you are in for a terrific ride.

Feel free to post a question of your own for next time!

Hello Meredith,

Must say a good show yesterday...I liked the part on buying a new car. That is something I always think about when buying. I can't believe for the top 5 pics that your Penguin Dunk didn't make it either...ha ha ha...I thought that was great of you and I too think that Matt should do it next year!

Quick question. Have you ever thought about doing Dancing with the stars? I am not sure how they pick people, but if they were to ask would you?

I hope you have a great weekend even if it is snowing right now. I happen to live in upstate NY and that is just what it is doing.....

Hi Meredith. I saw your blog about knitting. Don't give up. How about getting yourself a couple of DVDs that teach you how to knit? That way you can just keep rewinding the DVD if you are having trouble with something from the comfort of your own house. There are some pretty good ones out there. Go to amazon.com and type in knitting DVDs. Just get something very basic, like a beginner's guide to knitting. Good luck.

You know, I really DON'T think you owed the audience an apology. You were talking about the 'Vagina Monologues' and the word is used in the play. I guess if there were children watching, then, oops, but adults shouldn't be offended by the context in which the word was said. I think it's kind of silly for everyone to get worked up over what was, like you said, an honest mistake. Maybe an apology was owed to the parents with small children, but any adult who would get upset about that needs to grow up a bit, I think.

I love the Today Show. My day starts with you at 7:00 a.m. (Central Time). You always make me smile and laugh. Meredith I love your sense of humor and how everyone gets along. This has to be natural as I don't think you could fake liking each other. I've missed seeing Tikki Barber on the show. Has he stopped being a Today Show correspondant?
Best wishes and warm regards to you all.

Hi Meredith! I am currently a first year law student and the Today Show is always part of my morning routine. And as I wake up in a dense fog and debate whether dropping out of school in order to sleep in today is worth it ... I always wonder what your daily schedule looks like. As well as the other the hosts on Today. How long do you stay at the studio? How about Natalie and Ann after their 4th hour? Does the early hour arrival to work at least allow for an early afternoon departure?! (Because I figure, if the Today Show hosts are such hard workers, I too can get out of bed.) And finally, love your corky sense of humor, I always catch myself laughing at your side comments in the morning!

Meredith,

I had to change the channel this morning because I 'm trying to eat breakfast and I don't want to see some dude eat a cockroach. You and the rest of the Today Show team are too classy for that Fear Factor garbage. Seriously, tell the producers it's making people change the channel. It's just disgusting. Otherwise, I think you're awesome.

Hello Meredith!

This mornings show from what I got to see was good, but I have to say I was watching you closely when you and David were talking about the plane in Germany. I know you have a fear of flying, but you didn't let anyone know while this piece was being disgussed..you are truly amazing!!!!

So thinking about flying any time soon?

We are seriously to believe that the ex-wife of a media mogul who has been in the industry for a zillion years "slipped" and used the C word? Not a chance... better promotion through faux controversy I say.

Recently you had a mother on the show who started a sight for mothers to work on line from home. How can I find out how to contact this sight or person so that I can find a job from home on the computer.

Thank you for your help. I couldn't find a question hot line for the NBC Today Show. So I hope it was ok to ask on your sight.
