Wednesday Q&A: Television, knitting and journaling
Meredith tackles more of your questions! Ask yours today, and check back next Friday for the answer. Maybe she'll choose yours!
Hi Meredith! I love watching you every weekday morning on TODAY. I have a question for you- It's been so fun to see the TV casts get back together on the show. If you could chat with cast of any other show, who would you like to sit down with? I would love to talk to the cast of Friends or Seinfeld! Luv ya!
-Christina A.
We’ve had a blast this week reuniting the casts of some of our favorite shows. Today I was with Candice Bergen and the rest of the FYI folks from “Murphy Brown”. And like you I would also love to sit down with the cast of “Seinfeld”.
Meredith, I've read you knit. I'm in love with the red knitted? scarf you wore Tuesday, with your black coat. Did you make it? Where can I find the pattern? If purchased, would you share the store name (if you know it)
-Ann
Actually, I don’t really ‘knit’—though I have ‘knitted’. But I haven’t picked up my needles in so long I’m afraid I’ve forgotten everything and clearly would drop a stitch. The woman who owns the bakery in my town is a fantastic knitter, and she started me on a scarf but it’s only halfway done. However, your question has inspired me to try, try again. As for the red knitted scarf, I inquired, and though it may look as if it was hand-knit it is cashmere and it was purchased last year at Saks (we think).
Meredith: Before you started blogging did you ever keep a journal or something to get all these good thoughts out? I wondered since it seems so cathartic to write like this. You're so good at it too!! Love ya from TN.
-JT
Like knitting, I’ve started many journals but then lost interest. I think I’m over myself at this point. But I do agree that blogging can be cathartic, when I’m not frustrated by the fact that I can’t come up with something to say. In fact, that’s why I’m answering questions today—even though it’s not Friday.
Feel free to post a question of your own for next time!

Hi!
I was just wondering how much you keep in touch with your past co-hosts... not to say that not doing so means there was bad blood, but with life being busy and such, I wonder who you're in regular touch with after having been on so many shows over the years with different anchors and crews and the like.
Also, have you ever had a problem with one of your kids' friends or the friends' parents who try to use the kids to get in with their famous mom?
Hi Meredith,
I love watching you every morning on Today, and I loved when you were on The View too :). Anyway, I'm 18 years old and I love to watch older movies (Doris Day is my favorite actress of all time), and I was wondering what your favorite older movies are. Thanks for being so energetic and happy all the time!! You're the best!!
I've got a random question for you... I recently did a research paper on online social networking websites, so what's your opinion of sites like Facebook and MySpace? Good networking tools or Stalkerbook?
Meredith,
Thanks so much for easing me into my day every morning. You can deliver even the most heart wrenching stories with sincerity and the utmost respect, and then tease your co-hosts. I love it! Here are my questions:
I have decided to finally jump start my career, but I am still trying to figure out how to balance a brand new baby (7 months old), a marriage, running a household AND freelancing. What advice can you give?
As an artist myself, I'm always curious to see which artists inspire and touch others. So, who is your favorite, and is there a piece of artwork that moves you?
Thanks so much for all that you do!

Dear Meredith: When you took your plunge into the icy water last week in Vermont, Did you have any kind of rubber wet suit on under your t-shirt and pants? (I was just wondering)
Meredith: This might be your silliest question ever, but I'eve often wondered: Do you ever worry that your journalism and reporting might be taken less seriously by some people because you are also a game-show host?
Hi Meredith!
I've always wondered; why are you only on until 9:00? I know there is a reason, but I've always wondered what it is. Is it to incorporate more of the other hosts?
Thanks for taking the time to answer viewer questions!
Hi Meredith!!
I just have to say that from having watched the Today show for quite some time I really enjoy seeing you on there. You have helped to brighten and liven up the show. You have the greatest sense of humor!!
My question to you is:
How do you get up so early in the morning and seem so happy throughout the day? I am an early riser myself, but by the end of the day I start to loose my umph....just how do you do it?
By the way I LOVE YOUR BLOG!! I just recently found it...I think you are a beautiful, smart, funny lady.
Thanks again for all you do.
Hello Meredith!!
I am new to your blog and I have to say I LOVE IT!! I have to say that I find it great that you show everyone that you are just like one of us. I think you are a great addition to the TODAY SHOW and that your sense of humor is terrific. You make me laugh and help to brighten up my day. Kinda like on yesterdays show when you put the witches hat on from the wizard of oz and did the melting scene....you had me laughing so hard....From what I have read and watched you are a terrific friend, mom, wife and co-worker. I hope you never change.
My question to you is:
What kind of regime do you have yourself on that you can get up so early in the morning and do not only the Today show, but Millionare plus I am sure much more and still look (beautiful) and sound so bubbly(humorous)?
I also have to say that I thought your interview with the cast from Murphy Brown was great. I loved that show!!
