Jan said: When does your new taping schedule for Millionaire begin? When will the new viewing season begin? I enjoy that show as much as Today because I only get to watch about the first 30 minutes of Today.
We begin taping the new season of Millionaire on July 21st. We tape the last two weeks in July, then take August off, mostly because I’ll be in China with the Olympics. Then we continue taping in September, October, and finish up in the first week of November. All together we shoot some 200 shows of which I do about 175. I’ve often said when I look ahead at the schedule, I start to whimper—it seems so overwhelming. But in the doing it is an absolute blast. As for when you can watch the new season on TV, I believe it is some time in September, so check your local listings. And if any of you are in the New York City area, come see the show.
Jason Li said: Hey Meredith, I'm 20 from Singapore and have been watching TODAY on my ipod ever since i got it. It's a great show! I've always wanted to be a journalist so I try to listen/watch/read news from all over - for both the stories and how news is broadcast from country to country. And I love the familiar, informal feel to TODAY! Wonder if it'd be possible for a foreign person like me to do an internship with NBC? I've done one with Channel NewsAsia, the local news network, but it'd be great to do one overseas!
According to our Program Manager Ada Famulari, we don’t get involved in all the legalities entailed in bringing over international students to this country for internships; neither do we sponsor nor house interns. But if you come here on a student visa, and you are eligible to do internships in the United States, then you are more than welcome to apply to our NBC internship program. For more information, log on to nbcuni.com and read all about our internship program.
Tracey said: Hi Meredith, So I was just rejoicing that it was the first official day of spring (even though it's still cold as all get out) but it still got me thinking about warmer days! What are some of your favorite springtime activities?
As the weather heats up I like to go running, and then lay down on the stone patio in my backyard. I know that sounds crazy, but the warmth of the rocks makes me feel as if I’m in a spa. I also love to plant flowers.
Feel free to post a question of your own for next time!

Friday Ambush sequence: Why does Hoda and NOW Cathy Lee have the ambush person's family get up in the camera area? The people at home would like to see the results and HEAR what the professionsals did. Because of the family and hosts this is not possible. Just wondering. Thank you.
Meredith...It's nice when you recognize groups out on the plaza...like the group studying communications. You have to wonder if those kids are ever going to get jobs in their field of study though. With all of the cutbacks in media positions, why is it that people who are already making millions of dollars at one media job are given more than one job....and the opportunity to make even more millions?
Hi Meredith,
Do you have an opinion about the choice of China as the host for this year's Olympics in light of the political and social circumstances there? Do you think the Olympic committee should take these things into consideration in making their choice of where to hold the games?
All the best,
Fay
Chris, you sound silly and jealous that Ms. Vieira has two jobs. You are not raising a moral issue. You are just exhibiting the typical victim/loser mentality that is so prevalent in this society. Stop worrying about how much money somebody else is making and get a job.
Hi Meredith!
I was wondering if you have a favorite story and/or activity that you have done during your time at the TODAY show? Is there something in particular that you would like to do or cover on the show that you haven't yet?
Do you ever watch The Soup or read the blog site "Oh No They Didn't" ? How does it feel (or do you care) when you're talked about? (I've never seen anything negative, but you were mentioned on The Soup this week for when Suze Orman was lost and I know there was stuff on both when you went from View to NBC).
Meredith,
I was in attendance at today's Spring Awakening event at Fieldston and didn't get the chance to tell you how impressed I was with your panel discussion.
I'm not technically part of the Fieldston family, more like a distant cousin. My uncle, Luciano, works for the school and because I recently earned my Bachelor's in journalism suggested I attend. He speaks very highly of you and how down to earth you are with the staff.
I respect the work you do as a prominent woman journalist (and involved mother) and my question (finally) is: What advice would you give a young journalist in breaking into what sometimes seems like an impossible industry? And: Once you've started your career how do you also go about preparing to start a family?
Thanks,
Francis
P.S. Your husband's excerpt was very moving and incredibly inspiring.
I'm watching the Today Show on internet, the video on the main page. Is there a way for me, in France, to watch more of the Today Show?
BTW how is it to taste all those meals savory to sweet to savory in the morning?
Thanks,
Babeth

Hey Meredith,
I adore your work on the Today show - you are just what they needed to perfect the show. Everyone in front of the camera appears to not only enjoy you but also are so relieved you're there!
Please pass on to Al Roker ( I am so technically challenged that I couldn't seem to figure out where to send this message) so I figured I could tell you how great I think you are along the way!!!
4/15 Loved the choice in Colorado for Lending a Hand!! Skiing in my past as my economic times changed my vacation plans and, oh my knees don't mind anyway!; This piece had tears streaming down my face. It was wonderful to see this program in action, and my kids also learned and loved and understood compassion . But, along the sidelines we felt the love going on and I can only begin to imagine the joy of being involved in such a wonderful program. God bless all involved and.....the little Stroiber (sp?) boy is a superstar and stole the show...loved him!! Suggest follow up piece with him in the program or on CP. Enough chatting here.. thank you! Laura
Hi Meredith
I love watching you every Am... I just have to know where your green trenchcoat is from on April 14th & todays blue jacket you wore!!
I loved it and you always look great.

About your interview with the polygamist women, why didn't you simply ask the women their ages, and the ages of their children? Despite their 1840's hair and clothes, they are probably younger than they look, and I am betting the redhead was probably in her 20's and the ages of her children would have revealed whether she was wed and impregnated before her 16th birthday.
Isn't it frightening how they all spoke exactly the same way, and showed virtually no emotions, even when speaking about losing their children? That is a beaten down group of women, and probably fairly easy to trick, like with that ages question. Let's use some basic investigative tools here, shall we?
Meredith: are you aware that you often use what is referred to as "Loaded Questions?", for instance when you asked the question "How young are these kids when they are allowed to marry old men in their 30's and 40's?" You PRESUPPOSE that these women are indeed young and that they are kids.
This is the same tactic employed by used car salespeople when they ask "would you prefer the yellow pinto or the red yugo?", the presupposition there is that the customer is ready to buy the car.
Robert Cialdini talks about these and other techniques in his book, which they are part of the fun of buying used cars, go to flea markets, but do they belong on a popular and influencing show like yours? Is it fair to show YOUR personal BIAS on a news program which is supposed to be OBJECTIVE and not subjective, reporting and not manipulating?
Noam Chomsky is right!
was listing to the ladies from the poligamist compound talk on your show today.I cant help but feel they are abused women, they all use the same tone of speach, act the same way, like they have no personality of thier own.
Meredith,
Two questions: What happened to Wild Bill the security quy? I haven't seen him on the show lately. And also, does the Today show gang ever get together and hang out on the weekend? Thanks!
hi meredith its kyle your big fan from IL and was wondering if you could wear a big hat on millionaire? or if you could wear a kentucky derby hat on Today?
Hi Meredith
Wondering how much better you think private schools are than NY public schools?
I saw where you asked the polygamist mothers about what age their daughters would be married off--and they all evaded the question-just stating that they loved their children.
But why not ask the mother's at what age they themselves were wed? I am reading between the lines that those children/women have no choice in whom they marry.
I agree with some of the responses above, simply doing the math, with the age of the mother and the ages of her children will give you an idea as to what age was considered the norm in their society to wed.
Thanks

How exciting that the First Lady is co-hosting the Today Show on Tuesday! How did that come about? Why is she only co-hosting the 9am hour instead of the entire show?
Hello Meredith; I only get to watch Millionaire sporadically, but I've never seen anyone walk away with the $1 million check. Does it happen often, or have I just missed every one of those episodes?
Also: I imagine its going to be a very interesting morning when Mrs. Bush comes to host. It's sad you won't be hosting with her, but I hope you enjoy the experience - and give us an idea how it went!
Go Red Sox!
Meredith,
I loved your April Fools' Day blog about the pranks you and Matt played on each other. It reminded me of my co-ed dorm in college. Or are you comfortable enough with each other to be like my family of five now, running around bleary-eyed and half-dressed getting ready for work and school every morning?
Meredith,
It looks like you have such a good time out on the plaza. What was the strangest or funniest thing to happen to you out there? Any guys get too friendly? I remember when Katie was there a woman flashed her boobs at the camera.
Meredith,
I've been a fan since your West 57th and 60 Minutes days and you just keep getting better. I love your outfits but was wondering if there are more conservative rules on Today than on the View, where you all liked to show a little cleavage? And since we have similar builds, I'd love to get your tips on sports bras (I usually can go without but recently started running), and find out what type of hose you wear because I could never get used to them and you seem to wear them a lot. I don't think they look good in open-toed shoes, (too old ladyish) but that is just me.
Thanks,
Flann
Meredith,
Thanks for perking me up every morning and finding time to blog. As a big fan and frustrated copy editor seeking work in NYC (hint, hint), I couldn't help noticing something you said you like to do after your run. I assume you meant you like to "lie down" on the stone patio, as opposed to lay (which might draw Plaza-like crowds).

Hi Meredith,
If you get to talk to the woman who had their kids taken from them again could you please ask them how old they were when they had their kids and how old they are now? They looked so dead to the world and not one of them showed any emotion except a blank look on their faces. You can't convince me that these woman aren't abused in some way, I wouldn't be afraid to bet that they don't have any say in if they even want to have kids.
Love ya Meredith

Hi Meredith- I love watching you every morning on the today show. I have a question for you... if you could switch places with any other member of the today team for a day, who would you switch with? Al? Ann? Willard? Gene Shalit?
Mere- Love ya! Thanks for making my mornings better! Here is my question for this week... Do you have any superstitions or traditions that you do every morning before the show? Do you and Matt have a secret handshake or something? I always imagine you two performing some elaborate handshake right before 7am.
Question- if you were a crayon in a crayon box, which color would you be????????
I know you're a Red Sox fan, meredith - so am I!!! Do you have a favorite player? Or did you have a favorite player growing up? My favorite player when I was a kid was Carlton Fisk - I loved him so much!!
Also, how do you feel about this season so far?
GO SOX!!!!!
Meredith, My wife and I are debating wheather you are expecting. I say you said yes on the air and she says no. I tried to show her your baby bump. please settle this.
Love
Micheal Grant
PLEASE PLEASE have the Jonas Brothers on your show!!!!!!!! PLEASE OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a question, my radio class is doing an interview project and I thought of no one better than you for the interview it's a 3-4 minute recorded interview about how you got started in the television industry if you say yes I'll advertise both the Today Show and Who Wants to be a Millionare on the station for free.
Meredith,
Surely you know the difference between "Al and I" and "Al and me". "Al and I" would be the subject of a sentence or be used after what are called linking verbs. "Al and me" would be used as objects of verbs and prepositions. Therefore, when you said, "Matt, you can't see Al and I", you erred. The easiest way to remember is to remove the word before the "and" and see which is correct. "You didn't see I" is just not correct. Therefore, you didn't see Al and me. Clear?
Thanks,
Bob, Lansdale PA
Hi Meredith, was just thinking that the clothes you wear on the show don't do you justice! You are a tiny woman yet you wear large frumpy jackets with huge buttons on them that look like a clown would wear. Everthing is almost always black and you have nothing to hide! Ann is a fabulous "clothes" person and maybe she could give you some advice. by the way, love your laugh...

Where do you think Matt is, you have been 3 for 3, I guessed the Minnesota for the mall clue and Seattle for the rock clue?
Meredith...it may be a little early for you, but when your son is done with college, decisions about jobs and careers can be distressing. I know of young adults who have worked their behinds off in college taking a curriculum of campus broadcasting jobs to learn the television industry. And some went on to become interns, even at TODAY. But after graduation, there are still no doors open to them. More often than not they don't even get an email or phone call returned. In fact, they have a hard time trying to find even a CONTACT NAME in Human Resources. The colleges do very little with respect to job placement or contacting broadcasting recruiters, despite their earlier claims. Everything has been done successfully up to graduation, and now they've hit a wall. Are their any tips you could give them?
